We also believe in supporting our community. Over the years we have been able to help out the Red Land Community Library, Red Land Senior Center, the Red Land Music Boosters, Captial Area Girls on the Run, and others.
Our "CEO" has been a volunteer at the Red Land Community Library in Etters for over 24 years and currently serves as president of the Newberry Business Association and president of the Friends of the Red Land Community Library.
Tenants continue to ask about Mei
In September 2018 a tenant brought us a cat that was found on the grounds. She was obviously malnourished, weighing only 4.25 lbs. The veterinarian confirmed that she was an adult cat and estimated her age at 9-10 months.
In the first week that she spent at the office, she gained a whole pound. For a stray, she was a very friendly cat, always eager to greet customers.
Mei spent a month living at the office while we got her de-wormed, de-mited, flea free, and while waited for the tests to come back confirming that she was disease free.
After receiving a clean bill of health, she became a welcome addition to our household. A year later she weighs a healthy 9 lbs and is playful, affectionate, and happy.
